Seniors who want to maintain or expand their range of motion
My journey as a GYROTONIC® teacher
As a professional movement artist who experienced a debilitating hip injury, I have personally experienced the way GYROTONICS® can aid in injury recovery, everyday movement skills, and enhance performance.
That’s why I’m so passionate about training people to use this intuitive system in a way that fits their unique goals, abilities, and bodily needs. GYROTONIC® sessions feel great in your body, allow plenty of room for play, and are a little bit of magic.
A few of my favorite GYROTONIC® instruments
-
This is the heart of my practice and the tool I use with every single client. The weighted pulley system creates smooth, even resistance that supports the full range of motion of the joints, building strength and fluidity at the same time.
-
This is often the first piece of specialized equipment I add into programming with my clients, and for good reason. It's accessible to all levels and especially wonderful for post-injury work, since the spine and pelvis are fully supported throughout.
-
The GYROTONER® is one of my favorites for opening up the hips and shoulders across many different planes of movement. It's especially valuable for mobilizing the thoracic spine and teaching your legs and arms how to coordinate with the spine.
-
The ARCHWAY® allows for exercises in every relationship to gravity — vertical, horizontal, diagonal, and inverted — which opens up movement possibilities you can't access any other way. It's a favorite among dancers and athletes.
Build a more resilient body. Your joints will thank you.
Whether you’re hoping to take your athletic performance to the next level or simply seeking more ease moving through your day, I’d love to support you.

Bring yourself, an open mind, a water bottle, and clothes you feel comfortable moving in.
We’ll start by talking, and I’ll ask questions to get a full picture of your movement history, any injuries, and personal goals before we start using the GYROTONIC® instruments.

Because the GYROTONIC® method is unlike any other movement system, 1:1 training is needed before one can safely participate in group classes.
The industry standard is to start with at least four private sessions before attending group classes.
Once you feel competent on the machines, you can continue on with private sessions to work on specialized goals, or add in group classes to increase frequency.

The short answer is that they’re actually quite different. Because reformer pilates also uses equipment with a lever and pulley system, at first glance they can look quite similar.
The differences really come down to the goals of each practice, the range of motion, and functionality of the specialized equipment. Pilates uses linear movement, strength training, and the breath to develop the core, and long, lean muscles.
The GYROTONIC® method increases flexibility, strength, joint mobility, and coordination. It also uses the breath, but focuses more on improving everyday movement, reaching new performance highs, rehabbing injuries, reducing chronic pain, and re-patterning old habits.
Where pilates is a workout, GYROTONICS® is a complete movement system designed to help you feel more connected to your body, move more freely, and protect your joints and muscles as you age.
